Le Lavandou

A beautiful and fashionable spot at the Côte d’Azur

The beaches

The apartments are located on the hill between Le Lavandou and the cute little beach of St. Claire. The Le Lavandou beach is a very long straight beach with fine grained sand. There are lots of beach bars and ice cream parlors and places and you can rent jet skis, diving equipment, windsurfing and standup paddling boards. The beach in St. Claire (see picture) is smaller and has nice snorkeling spots and some exquisit restaurants. There is a coastal walk (for the adventurous) that leads you over cliffs beneath beautiful seaside villas to the adjacent beaches.

The restaurants

Next to the beach of St. Claire, a couple of minutes by foot from the apartments, you can find the Tamaris restaurant. It offers simple seafood exquisitely prepared. Best try their legendary Bouillabaisse. You can find famous guests like the president dining here – or at La Rastèque (10 minutes by car).  La Rastèque is rarely open and you need to get a reservation like 1 month ahead – but it’s so worth it!

If you are not looking to spend a fortune on food, there are a lot of restaurants in Le Lavandou, especially on the boardwalk next to the beach, where you can get good food & a beautiful view for a fair price. Same goes for Bormes-les-Mimosas, where you’ll find some cute restaurants hidden in the alleys of the old town.

The yachts

The most beautiful beaches with the fewest people, you can reach by boat only. You can rent a boat in the harbor and also do your boat driving license here. From the harbor of Le Lavandou we like to ship around Fort de Brégançon to reach the beaches below the Brégançon vineyards (about 30 minutes drive by boat). You can also reach the three Îles d’Or in front of Le Lavandou. If you don’t rent your own boat, there are a couple of ferries leaving from Le Lavandou to the islands regulary and also one headed to St. Tropez.

The sights

There are some beautiful spots to explore around Le Lavandou. The Fort de Brégançon is the summer residence of the French president. On the adjacent hills, east of Le Lavandou you can find beautiful vineyards and their châteaus where you can participate in wine tastings. We recommend a visit at the Castle Brégançon (a great white wine and rosé) and the Château Malherbe.

If you are looking to do a day trip: St. Tropez with its fancy shops, clubs and yachts is not far (1 hour by car or ferry) and Cassis with its beautiful white stone cliffs and nature park is reachable in 1,5 hours. Nice, Cannes, Grasse are about 2 hours by car. We’re happy to provide you with additional tips, feel free to contact us!
